An enchanting village in the middle of the Central Coast, away from the crowds, no chain restaurants or stores, very mild weather, and great dining options.
The Bluebird Hotel is one of many boutique hotels in Cambria.  We made this our base in Cambria because it was walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel had a garden in the back which was hidden from the street.
San Simeon Pier at William Hearst Memorial State Beach
On Wednesday, we headed north along the coast to San Simeon, where we walked along the pier, stopped at the Elephant Seal Rookery, and then to the gateway of Big Sur, Ragged Point.
